Standards for necessary public health measures (management and operation standards)
Regarding the sanitary handling of, and facilities for, food, and sanitation management for employees, the standards for the necessary public health measures are set by The Regulations for Enforcement of the Food Sanitation Act as standards that should be followed by businesses who produce food products.
The Regulations for Enforcement of the Food Sanitation Act were partially amended on August 23 2024. From September 1 2024, registrants for Foods with Functional Claims and those who have received licenses related to Foods with Specified Health Uses must gather information related to health hazards related to Foods with Functional Claims, as well as quickly provide the necessary information to prefectural governors if they have obtained information indicating a risk of health hazards occurring or increasing.
