The former National Stadium was used as the main stadium for the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games, and was in the completed as New National Stadium on November 30, 2019. The Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Tokyo 2020 Games will be held here along with Athletics events and Football matches. After the 2020 Games are over, the stadium will be used for sporting and cultural events.

This facility is one of the legacy venues of the 1964 Olympic Games. It served as the main arena for Tokyo 1964 Games, hosting the gymnastics events and water polo, which was held in the venue’s indoor pool.
This gymnasium plays a key role as it hosts large-scale competitions such as various world championships. The main arena has a maximum capacity of 10,000 spectators along with a sub arena, swimming pool, and training room onsite.

This venue was constructed to stage the Aquatics and Basketball competitions for the Tokyo 1964 Games. The arena is famous for its suspension roof design, and has earned a glowing international reputation as an outstanding Olympic legacy venue. This stadium is adjacent to the beautiful green spaces of Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park, which also carries the same 1964 Olympic legacy.

The Nippon Budokan is known as the spiritual home of Japanese martial arts - especially judo.
At the 1964 Games, judo made its debut as an Olympic sport, with competitions being held here. This 1964 Olympic legacy venue has a beautifully-streamlined large roof that resembles Mt. Fuji.
It serves as an important venue not only for Japanese martial arts but also for various national, educational, and large-scale commercial events such as concerts.

This symbolic glass building, with a huge boat-shaped atrium space, opened in 1997 for 3 main purposes as a base of comprehensive cultural activities, as place to exchange of information and creations, and also for international exchanges. This attractive site was the former center of Tokyo’s governmental administration for about a century before becoming Tokyo’s largest convention and performing arts center.

This venue is the spiritual home of the Japanese national sport of sumo wrestling. The interior is designed in a bowl shape to allow spectators to easily view the sumo bouts in the centre of the auditorium from wherever they are seated. It also hosted professional boxing match in the past.

This 1964 Olympic legacy venue hosted the Equestrian competitions at the Tokyo 1964 Games. Established in 1940, the park currently serves as a main centre for the promotion of horse riding and equestrian competitions. This park site spans over 18ha which is 4 times as large as the Tokyo Dome site. Various seasonal flowers and greenery can be viewed here throughout the year, providing a relaxing space for Tokyo residents.

This is a new arena under construction in the northern part of Tokyo’s Ariake district. After the Tokyo 2020 Games, the arena will become a new sporting and cultural centre with a seating capacity for up to 15,000 spectators.

This temporary venue will also be located in the northern part of Tokyo’s Ariake district where the Olympic/ Paralympic Village and the International Broadcast Centre and the Main Press Centre will also be located nearby. During the Tokyo 2020 Games, a sporting arena with a 12,000 seating capacity is scheduled for construction on this site.

This course is planned for construction in the Ariake district, which is located in the stunning waterfront area close to the Athletes' Village and the Big Sight venue, which will house the IBC and the MPC. The venue will constitute one of the main centres for urban sports, showcasing the BMX Racing, BMX Freestyle and Skateboarding competitions.

Ariake Tennis Park is one of the biggest tennis tournament facilities in Japan. In addition to the center court Ariake Coliseum, it is equipped with a show court and indoor and outdoor courts. Since its opening in 1983, the venue has been used for various purposes, from international tournaments to public use, and has been familiar with many people as a great facility for enjoying tennis.

The Aomi Urban Sports Park is temporary venue in the waterfront Aomi district, and is also situated conveniently close to the Athletes' Village. With views across the iconic Tokyo Bay, this venue will hold the Basketball 3×3 and Sport Climbing competitions. This is also one of the venues that will serve as a symbol of our efforts to engage the youth of the world at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

This facility will be constructed in the Oi Central Seaside Park Sports Forest. Plans are underway for the venue to be used for Hockey and as a multi-purpose sports facility with artificial turf ground after the Tokyo 2020 Games.

This area of reclaimed land affords superb views of Tokyo Bay and Tokyo’s dramatic cityscape. A temporary course will be constructed here for the Equestrian Cross Country competition during the Tokyo 2020 Games and will be open to the public as a recreation area after the Games.

The Sea Forest Waterway’s rowing and canoe course will be constructed on the canals between the Inner and Outer Central Breakwater Reclamation Areas of the Port of Tokyo, affording superb bay and cityscape views. Following the Tokyo 2020 Games, the course will be used for international rowing and canoe competitions, and will become one of the premier locations for water sports. It will be open to the public as a recreation area after the Games.

The Kasai Canoe Slalom Center is a new facility to be constructed on land owned by the metropolitan government adjacent to the Kasai Rinkai Park.
It is Japan’s first manmade course where the water flow is artificially created in the water channel.
After the Tokyo 2020 Games, the facility will be developed integrally with surrounding parks and water areas, and used for a wide range of water sports and leisure activities such as river rafting.

An archery field will be newly constructed in the Yumenoshima Park. Following the Tokyo 2020 Games, the facility will play a key role in the promotion of archery by hosting major archery competitions. It will also be used for a wide range of other sporting and recreational activities.

This venue will be newly constructed in the Tatsumi Seaside Park with a seating capacity for up to 15,000 spectators. (The seating capacity will be reduced to 5,000 after the Games.)
